“Urban Alliance offers multiple programs for high school students, grades 11 and 12, living in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Detroit.

If you are a rising high school junior, Urban Alliance has a workforce readiness program that provides career exposure and skills training before participating in our Flagship High School Internship Program as a senior.

If you are a rising high school senior, Urban Alliance will help you gain access to professional work experiences to help you achieve your full potential.     

Apply to our flagship High School Internship Program and get valuable job skills, training, one-on-one mentoring, post-high school planning support, and up to 500 hours of paid internships (at minimum wage or higher) in partnership with some of the nation's leading employers in the public, private, and nonprofit sector.”   

“The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) established the High School Scholars Internship Program (HSSIP) in 2019. This program is a six-week paid summer internship for students entering their senior year of high school and recent high school graduates. The program provides students at public and charter schools with an opportunity to work in small training teams, develop public speaking and communication skills, discover career opportunities within the federal government, and to learn about the banking industry, banking regulation, the OCC's mission, and the important work the agency does to ensure the safety and soundness of the federal banking system and the fair treatment of its customers.”

U.S. Senate Page Program

“The Senate Page Program offers high school students a unique opportunity to learn about Congress while continuing with their studies in the nation’s capital. Pages learn the value of public service while playing an important role in the daily operation of the Senate. Students who wish to apply for a Senate page position should write to their senators and request to be considered for a position. Senators’ offices may provide additional information online.”

“The NMNH High School Internship Program is a career immersion program for youth between the ages of 14 to 19, who are currently enrolled in high school (grades 9 to 11) in the Washington, D.C., region. The program runs from June to August and provides interns with practical experience through a hands-on internship with NMNH staff. By participating in the program, interns will also have access to behind-the-scenes tours, field trips, workshops, and college preparatory information.” 

U.S. Dept. of Interior Internship Program

“This program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service”.
